Recap: Poquoson Islanders vs. New Kent Trojans
This season hasn't been kind to the Poquoson Islanders, who are still winless after their seventh game. They were beaten by New Kent 77-30 on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Poquoson has scored all season.
Several Islanders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dayne Galacgac, who scored nine points.
New Kent found their leader in underclassman Marty Wray, who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wray has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Will Ross, who scored 14 points.
Poquoson bumped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for New Kent, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Poquoson will take on Tabb at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New Kent, they will be playing at home against Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Lafayette's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
