Baseball Recap: St. Cloud Wins Going Away Against Cypress Creek

St. Cloud never got on the board in their matchup last Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Cypress Creek on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Cypress Creek Bears with a sharp 12-3 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won five matches by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Logan King tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cole Davis, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI and one run. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sammy Echeverry, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

St. Cloud's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Cypress Creek, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Cloud will face off against Harmony at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (St. Cloud has won five straight at home dating back to last season, while Harmony won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Cypress Creek, they will challenge Celebration at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
