Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Rainier Rams vs. Tahoma Bears

Mt. Rainier and Tahoma are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Mt. Rainier Rams will face off against the Tahoma Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Friday, Mt. Rainier lost to Auburn on the road by a 67-51 margin. The Rams have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Tahoma came up short against Kentwood on Friday, falling 90-65. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while the Conquerors are ranked 33rd).

Mt. Rainier's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Tahoma, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Mt. Rainier won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, slipping by Tahoma 61-60. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mt. Rainier since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
