Basketball Recap: Mercy School Institute Mustangs vs. Cristo Rey
The Mercy School Institute Mustangs's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They had just enough and edged Cristo Rey out 49-46.
Hannan Ashraf was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Mohammad Albirini was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Mercy School Institute's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Cristo Rey, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Mercy School Institute does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cristo Rey will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
