Basketball Game Preview: Cahokia Comanches vs. Centralia Orphans

Cahokia is 1-9 against Centralia since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Cahokia Comanches will head out on the road to face off against the Centralia Orphans at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Saturday, Cahokia was beaten by Jersey 62-13.

Cahokia might have lost, but man, Alijah Childs was a machine: she posted four points along with 16 boards and six blocks.

Meanwhile, Centralia's game on Tuesday was all tied up 16-16 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Mt. Vernon by a score of 43-40. While losing is never fun, the Orphans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while the Rams are ranked eighth).

Centralia's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-5. As for Cahokia, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Cahokia was dealt a bruising 67-33 defeat at the hands of Centralia in their previous matchup back in January. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Cahokia was down 45-18.
