The Adams Central Patriots made easy work of the York Dukes on Thursday and carried off a 13-3 win. Considering the Patriots have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Hunter Nepple made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. Nepple was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Jaron Johnson was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Kaleb Wahlmeier was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
Adams Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as York only posted an OBP of .276.
