The Calhoun Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Gilmer County Titans at 6:00 p.m. in Monday's first game. Calhoun is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Wednesday, Calhoun fell victim to a rough 15-1 defeat at the hands of Roane County.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Gilmer County's good fortune finally ran out in their second game on Saturday. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Buckhannon-Upshur.
Summer Bourn was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-2 with two RBI and a double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaydee Martin, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Calhoun's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Gilmer County, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6.
