Volleyball Recap: Newark Memorial Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Erin Santos and Rianna Bowker

Newark Memorial lost against American back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cougars came up short against the Eagles, falling 3-0. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Newark Memorial was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made American work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 26-24, 25-18.

Newark Memorial's loss came despite strong showings from Rianna Bowker and Erin Santos. Bowker had 22 digs, while Santos had ten kills and seven digs. Santos is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least five every time she's taken the court this season.

Newark Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for American, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
