Baseball Recap: Monticello Takes a Loss

Monday just wasn't the day for Monticello's offense. They lost 7-0 to the Maquoketa Cardinals on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 on Monday.

Monticello has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Maquoketa, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-22-1.

Monticello didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-3 loss against Tipton on the 1st. As for Maquoketa, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Davenport West on the 1st.
