Softball Recap: Montrose Comes Up Short

Montrose was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dunmore Bucks. The Meteors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bucks from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Montrose got a massive performance out of Violet Conning, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. MycKenna Kublo was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Montrose's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Dunmore, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Montrose will head out to challenge Honesdale at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dunmore, they will welcome Scranton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
