The Lake Mary Prep Griffins are taking a road trip to face off against the St. John Lutheran Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Lake Mary Prep barely beat Crooms Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Lake Mary Prep was the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over Crooms Academy on Thursday. The Griffins haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Malachi Beedle was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Landon Trauger, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, St. John Lutheran made easy work of Ocala Christian on Tuesday and carried off a 19-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Saints, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Cooper Gloege made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those hits marked the first that he got this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Luis Roman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. St. John Lutheran is undefeated when Roman posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Spellman, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4.
St. John Lutheran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The victory made it two in a row for St. John Lutheran and bumps their season record up to 7-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.5 runs over those games. As for Lake Mary Prep, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 3-5.
Lake Mary Prep took their victory against St. John Lutheran when the teams last played back in April of 2018 by a conclusive 9-1. Will Lake Mary Prep repeat their success, or does St. John Lutheran have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
