Baseball Recap: Scituate Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for Scituate, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against the North Smithfield Northmen by a score of 10-6 on Saturday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 7-0 victory on Tuesday.

Aiden Ouillette made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Travis Howman was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Paul Zolkos was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Scituate always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Smithfield only posted an OBP of .312.

Scituate's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for North Smithfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.

As of now, neither Scituate nor North Smithfield have any future games scheduled.
