Volleyball Recap: Skyline Comes Up Short

After flying high against West on Tuesday, Skyline came back down to earth. The Eagles fell just short of the Brighton Bengals by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Bengals: they've now lost four in a row.

Skyline wouldn't go down easily and took Brighton into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-23, 25-23, 24-26, 15-9.

When it comes to explaining why Skyline lost, don't look at Kai Carlton. Despite the final result, he had 16 digs and four aces.

Skyline's defeat dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Brighton, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Skyline has already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Olympus on the 5th. As for Brighton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Alta on the 2nd.
