Volleyball Game Preview: Skyridge Falcons vs. Herriman Mustangs

After both having extra time off, the Skyridge Falcons and the Herriman Mustangs will shake off the rust and duke it out at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.

Skyridge is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Lehi, who was ranked fifth at the time (Skyridge was ranked 18th). The Falcons fell 3-1 to the Pioneers on Thursday.

Skyridge started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-22, 25-20, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Herriman had just enough and edged out Riverton 3-2 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Silverwolves: they've now won five in a row.

Herriman took Riverton into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-18, 25-15, 22-25, 15-13.

Skyridge's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Herriman, they pushed their record up to 17-7 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Skyridge might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Herriman in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
