Football Game Preview: Randall Raiders vs. Canyon Eagles + How To Watch

The Randall Raiders will take on the Canyon Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Randall will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 13 points last Friday, then bounced right back against Pampa on Friday. The Raiders blew past the Harvesters, posting a 62-7 win. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Harvesters recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Phoenix Sherwood went supernova, picking up 136 receiving yards and three TDs. Those three receiving touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaison Benton, who picked up 105 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Canyon won against Pampa last Friday with 41 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Eagles took their game with ease, bagging a 41-0 win over Hereford. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Eagles' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while the Whitefaces are ranked 686th).

Randall better keep an eye on Bayler Schilling. He was instrumental in Canyon's win, picking up 188 receiving yards and three scores. With that strong performance, Schilling is now averaging an impressive 105.3 receiving yards per game.

Canyon's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Zacchaeus Garcia with two sacks. He is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Breccan Crockett was another major factor on D, making five total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception which he returned for a touchdown.

Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Randall, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.

Everything came up roses for Randall against Canyon in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 43-9 victory. In that matchup, the Raiders amassed a halftime lead of 29-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
