Incarnate Word Academy is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game last Saturday. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 35-31 heartbreaker at the hands of Carroll.

Sarah Cory put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted eight points. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2023.
Meanwhile, Geneva waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 68-20 blowout they got against the Centurions. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 28 points or more this season.
Geneva's win came from a few key players Incarnate Word Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kyra Petty, who went 11 of 27 on her way to 25 points along with five assists and five boards. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maegan Riebel, who went 8 of 16 on her way to 18 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.
Geneva smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in ten consecutive contests.
Geneva pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36 points. As for Incarnate Word Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Incarnate Word Academy has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 24.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Geneva struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
