Basketball Recap: Rose Hill Comes Up Short

Rose Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 71-58 to the Halstead Dragons. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rockets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-59 back in December of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Rose Hill saw an underclassman step up: freshman Easton Meyer went 9 for 14 on his way to 22 points. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for Meyer. Another player making a difference was Zander Ford, who posted 11 points in addition to six assists and three steals.

Even though they lost, Rose Hill was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Rose Hill's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Halstead, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Rose Hill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 64-59 defeat against Wellington on the 28th. As for Halstead, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-52 loss against Abilene on the 28th.
