Softball Recap: Stevensville Comes Up Short

If Stevensville was feeling good fresh off their 21-1 takedown of Corvallis last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Beaverhead County Beavers by a score of 7-6 on Saturday.

Lilly Newsom was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaidan Oyler, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Stevensville's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2. As for Beaverhead County, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stevensville will take on Butte Central Catholic at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Beaverhead County, they will head out to challenge Hamilton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
