Baseball Recap: Jupiter Christian Triumphs

Jupiter Christian proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by eight) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Benjamin Buccaneers 9-7. Nine seems to be a good number for the Eagles as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Sean Lehnhoff made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Lehnhoff was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Matthew Schulz was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Jaden Kostura was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

Jupiter Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Jupiter Christian's record now sits at 4-1. As for Benjamin, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jupiter Christian will head out to square off against Palm Beach Gardens at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Palm Beach Gardens is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.8 runs per game this season. As for Benjamin, they will head out on the road to face off against Jensen Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Benjamin also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 7.5 runs per game.
