Baseball Recap: Patriot Comes Up Short

Patriot had lost three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 14-13 to make it four. They fell just short of the Ramona Rams by a score of 11-10. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Noah Leon was cooking despite his team's loss, going 4-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Paul Lopez-Ortiz, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As for Ramona, the victory got them back to even at 13-13-1. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

On Ramona's side, Richerd Macias was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Macias has become a key player for the Rams: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 10-13-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Anthony Avina, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Coming up, Patriot will challenge Mary Star of the Sea at 3:15 p.m. on the 15th. Ramona does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
