Soccer Game Preview: Mission Oak vs. Lindsay

Mission Oak is 2-7 against Lindsay since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Mission Oak Hawks will challenge the Lindsay Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mission Oak is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Bullard by a score of 3-1. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 178th, while the Knights are ranked 386th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Alexander Gutierrez and Nathan Sanchez scored all three of Mission Oak's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 27 goals.

Meanwhile, Lindsay came tearing into Tuesday's game with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.4 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They never let Orosi onto the board and left with a 7-0 win. Considering Lindsay has won 17 matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lindsay pushed their record up to 23-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those six contests. As for Mission Oak, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.
