Baseball Recap: Brilliant Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Brilliant challenged Hackleburg on Thursday. The Brilliant Tigers lost 20-2 to the Hackleburg Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 14-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2021.

Brilliant's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Hackleburg, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brilliant will challenge Phillips at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Brilliant has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Hackleburg, they will take on Winfield at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Hackleburg's pitching crew has only allowed 0.8 runs per game this season, so Winfield's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
