Softball Recap: Vacaville Continues Road Dominance on Wednesday

Vacaville's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Wood Wildcats. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Parkyr Smith looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Paige Witte was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Makayla Morgan was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

Vacaville hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.

Vacaville's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-8. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.6 runs. As for Wood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season.

As of now, neither Vacaville nor Wood have any future games scheduled.
