Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Boone). They enjoyed a cozy 80-62 victory over the Mount Dora Christian Academy Bulldogs on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Connor Summer went supernova for Boone, going 11 of 15 en route to 28 points and six rebounds. Those 28 points gave Summer a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joan Orta, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 14 points and three steals.

Boone was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Mount Dora Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Luke Deininger, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 20 points in addition to five assists and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Priest, who posted eight points.

The victory was the third in a row for Boone, bringing their record for this year to 5-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Boone will square off against Rockledge at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Rockledge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.9 points per game this season. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Umatilla at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
