Softball Recap: Ben L. Smith Takes a Loss

Ben L. Smith lost against Atkins back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Ben L. Smith lost 14-5 to Atkins. The Golden Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Keani Scurlock-Slade was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-2. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Ben L. Smith's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Atkins, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Atkins beat Ben L. Smith by a score of 17-2 later that day.
