Basketball Game Preview: Elk Grove Thundering Herd vs. Willow Glen Rams

The Elk Grove Thundering Herd and the Willow Glen Rams will face off at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Elk Grove knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Willow Glen likes a good challenge.

While Elk Grove didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They breezed by Watsonville to the tune of 72-39 on Friday. Given the Thundering Herd's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Wildcatz are ranked 582nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Willow Glen came up short against Newark Memorial on Friday and fell 53-41.

Elk Grove's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Willow Glen, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
