Soccer Recap: Wayne Valley Knocks off Higher-Ranked Bloomfield

The Wayne Valley Indians had just enough and edged out the Bloomfield Bengals 2-1 on Saturday. The win was all the more spectacular given Wayne Valley's disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey soccer rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Bloomfield are ranked 27th).

Wayne Valley has now won three of their last four games on the road. That run has powered them to a 4-3 record this season. The road victories were made possible by their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four games. As for Bloomfield, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1-1.

Coming up, Wayne Valley will challenge DePaul Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bloomfield, they will face off against Nutley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
