Basketball Game Preview: White Station Spartans vs. Whitehaven Tigers

White Station hasn't had much luck against Whitehaven recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The White Station Spartans will venture away from home to square off against the Whitehaven Tigers at 6:00 p.m. White Station is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season.

White Station is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Memphis Central: they outscored them in every quarter. White Station put the hurt on Memphis Central with a sharp 49-23 victory on Friday. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Warriors are ranked 205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

White Station got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kyndall Reynolds out in front who posted ten points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. Reynolds is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Amare Boothe was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Whitehaven's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 78-73 hit to the loss column at the hands of Memphis East.

The victory (which was White Station's third in a row) raised their record to 11-5. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.0 points per game. As for Whitehaven, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.

White Station came up short against Whitehaven in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 47-43. Can White Station avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
