Basketball Game Preview: Holdrege Dusters vs. Gothenburg Swedes

The Holdrege Dusters will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against the Gothenburg Swedes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Holdrege was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-46 to Sandy Creek.

Meanwhile, Gothenburg put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by St. Patrick's to the tune of 61-21. The Swedes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 23 points or more this season.

Gothenburg's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Holdrege, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Holdrege ended up a good deal behind Gothenburg in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, losing 45-31. Can Holdrege avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
