Basketball Recap: Twin Peaks Classical Academy's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

It was a good run, but Twin Peaks Classical Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 42-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the STEM School Highlands Ranch Spartans. The Timberwolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Twin Peaks Classical Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was David Bosire, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Bosire has been hot recently, having also posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Matthew Wurth was another key player, putting up eight points along with 12 boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Twin Peaks Classical Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead STEM School Highlands Ranch to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaden Morrison, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 15 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Avi Thakkar, who posted ten points and seven steals.

Twin Peaks Classical Academy's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-5. As for STEM School Highlands Ranch, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Twin Peaks Classical Academy has already played their next match (against Liberty Tree Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. STEM School Highlands Ranch will venture away from home to square off against Two Roads Charter School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. STEM School Highlands Ranch is facing Two Roads Charter School at the right time seeing as Two Roads Charter School is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
