Basketball Game Preview: Pathways Eagles vs. Southland Christian FLAMES

The Pathways Eagles will face off against the Southland Christian FLAMES at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Pathways has given up an average of 51.8 points per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Roy Berry, who shot 47% from the field to rack up 28 points and three steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. Another player making a difference was Leonardo Mariscal, who posted seven points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

Southland Christian has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost to City of Life Christian Academy on the road by a 72-55 margin on Tuesday. The matchup marked the FLAMES' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Southland Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Pathways, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.

Pathways couldn't quite finish off Southland Christian in their previous matchup back in February and fell 67-65. Thankfully for the Eagles, Carlos Escalera Jr. (who dropped a double-double with 23 points and ten boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
