Soccer Game Preview: Bear River vs. Mountain Crest

Bear River is 0-10 against Mountain Crest since April of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bears will venture away from home to face off against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Bear River has given up an average of 5.5 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bear River fell victim to Ridgeline and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Riverhawks, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Bear River can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah soccer rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Ridgeline are ranked third).

Meanwhile, Mountain Crest fought the good fight in their overtime match against Tooele on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Buffaloes by a score of 3-2.

Tanner Harris and Daxton Groll scored both of Mountain Crest's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Bear River's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Mountain Crest, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Bear River suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to Mountain Crest in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
