Volleyball Recap: Silverado Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Cimarron-Memorial

On Saturday, Silverado faced Cimarron-Memorial in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Silverado Skyhawks took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cimarron-Memorial Spartans. The Skyhawks just can't catch a break and have now endured 12 losses in a row dating back to last season.

Their offense was headlined by Kiechi Watanabe and Skyler Pangelinan, who picked up three kills apiece. Pangelinan also shared the team's lead in assists with Larry Adams: they picked up three each. Pangelinan was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Peter June was the offensive standout of the match as he had 12 digs and three assists. That's the most digs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Silverado's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Cimarron-Memorial, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3.

Silverado has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Las Vegas on the 1st. As for Cimarron-Memorial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Somerset Academy Losee on the 1st.
