The Riverside-Durham Pirates will face off against the Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverside-Durham is looking for their season's first win.

Riverside-Durham's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Hillside on Friday. They had to suffer through a 36-0 loss at the hands of the Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 315th, while the Hornets are ranked 91st).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southern School of Energy and Sustainability). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 66-0 victory over Northern Durham. The win was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Riverside-Durham better focus on containing Kamari Holloway and Jonathan Dillon as the pair were huge in Southern School of Energy and Sustainability's win. Holloway rushed for 158 yards on only nine carries, while Dillon threw for 149 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine passes. That's the most rushing yards Holloway has posted since back in November of 2024.

Southern School of Energy and Sustainability was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 259 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 204 rushing yards in four consecutive games.

Riverside-Durham's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Southern School of Energy and Sustainability, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
