Basketball Recap: Wisner-Pilger Comes Up Short

Wisner-Pilger extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They took a blow against the Tekamah-Herman Tigers, falling 69-38. The Gators were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-16.

When it comes to explaining why Wisner-Pilger lost, don't look at Regan Raabe. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine boards. Raabe has also also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 50% every time he's hit the court this season.

As for Tekamah-Herman, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1. The matchup marked their most dominant victory of the season so far.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tekamah-Herman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Parke Loftis, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 15 points and five rebounds. Those 15 points gave Loftis a new career-high. Sam Oligmueller was another key player, shooting 46% from the field on his way to 14 points and seven assists.

Wisner-Pilger didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 81-31 defeat against Wakefield on the 13th. Tekamah-Herman will take on Logan View/Scribner-Snyder in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
