Baseball Recap: West Salem Find Success

West Salem took a 17-run defeat the last time they faced off against Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Red Hawks 8-7 on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Red Hawks two weeks ago, they had to take a 18-1 loss.

Max Diegmann and Parker Demorest did most of the damage at the plate: Diegmann went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base, while Demorest went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave Demorest a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mekebo Anderson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

West Salem's victory bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau, they moved to 15-9 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

As of now, neither West Salem nor the Red Hawks have any future games scheduled.
