The North Schuylkill Spartans are taking a road trip to challenge the Panther Valley Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Schuylkill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

North Schuylkill is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Shikellamy on Saturday. North Schuylkill put the hurt on Shikellamy with a sharp 13-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Braves: they've now won six in a row.

North Schuylkill got a massive performance out of Kevin Jones, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs Jones has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Chase Slotcavage, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

North Schuylkill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Panther Valley posted their closest win since May 6, 2024 on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Shenandoah Valley 5-4. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Gavin Yuricheck was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-5. That run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Baneravage, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

North Schuylkill's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Panther Valley, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

North Schuylkill skirted past Panther Valley 6-5 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Schuylkill since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
