Baseball Game Preview: Beaverton Beavers vs. Coleman Comets

The Beaverton Beavers will take on the Coleman Comets at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Beaverton will be strutting in after a victory while Coleman will be coming in after a defeat.

Beaverton is returning to their home field after beating Millington on theirs, despite the fact Millington has dominated at home this season. The Beavers blew past the Cardinals 9-2 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Beavers, who have now won seven matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Coleman fell victim to Carson City-Crystal and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The loss continues a trend for the Comets in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

Beaverton's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Coleman, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.

Beaverton took their win against Coleman when the teams last played back in May of 2016 by a conclusive 16-4 score. Do the Beavers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Comets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
