Basketball Recap: Taylor Gibbs and Macey Pugh Secure Win for Cascade

Cascade won the last time they faced South Putnam and things went their way on Saturday too. The Cadets strolled past the Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 54-40. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cadets.

Cascade was led to victory by Macey Pugh and Taylor Gibbs. Pugh dropped a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Gibbs shot 50% from the field to rack up 13 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Gibbs a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Addy Thompson, who posted six points along with five boards and three steals.

Cascade now has a winning record of 2-1. As for South Putnam, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Coming up, Cascade will look to defend their home court on Friday against Speedway at 7:30 p.m. As for South Putnam, they will head out on the road to square off against Cloverdale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
