Preview: Bolsa Grande Matadors vs. Los Amigos Lobos
Bolsa Grande is 2-7 against Los Amigos since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Bolsa Grande Matadors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Los Amigos Lobos at 7:00 p.m.
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought game, but Bolsa Grande had to settle for a 21-18 defeat against Rancho Alamitos.
Despite their defeat, Bolsa Grande saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Marc Navarro, who picked up 103 receiving yards and two touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all. Navarro was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 66 yards. Ethan d Nguyen was another key contributor, throwing for 190 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, the third road match was the charm for Los Amigos, as they earned their first road win of the season. They took their game on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 34-6 victory over Loara.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Los Amigos to victory, but perhaps none more so than Pedro Hernandez, who rushed for 60 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Isaac Galindo, who rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown.
Los Amigos' win bumped their season record to 4-4 while Bolsa Grande's defeat dropped theirs to 5-3.
Bolsa Grande came up short against Los Amigos in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 35-26. Will Bolsa Grande have more luck at home instead of on the road?
