Opp has gone 7-2 against Slocomb recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. Opp will be playing in front of their home fans against Slocomb at 5:00 p.m. Opp will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Opp proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 15) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over Andalusia.

Meanwhile, Slocomb made easy work of Excel on Tuesday and carried off a 9-2 victory. The Red Tops might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Cade Birge and Jaxon Langham made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Birge pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Langham didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Birge has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Birge scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Langham scored a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cade Hodges, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Reeder, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Opp's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Slocomb, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Everything went Opp's way against Slocomb in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Opp made off with an 18-7 win. Will Opp repeat their success, or does Slocomb has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
