Basketball Recap: Fruita Monument's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Montrose came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against Fruita Monument, but Olivia Campbell wouldn't allow it. The Fruita Monument Wildcats put the hurt on the Montrose Red Hawks with a sharp 44-18 win on Tuesday thanks in part to Campbell, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 14 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Those seven steals gave her a new career-high.

Angelina Fortunato was another key player, putting up three points and four steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game.

The victory (which was Fruita Monument's fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-6. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.8 points. As for Montrose, the defeat snapped their winning streak at ten games and leaves them with a 15-2 record.

Fruita Monument wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 44-42 win against Durango on the 31st. As for Montrose, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-34 victory against Grand Junction on the 31st.
