Softball Recap: Wallenpaupack Area Has No Trouble Against Scranton Prep

Wallenpaupack Area can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They put the hurt on the Scranton Prep Cavaliers with a sharp 17-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Buckhorns, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Gabby Hieber was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Josie Leighton, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI.

Wallenpaupack Area always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Scranton Prep only posted an OBP of .353.

Wallenpaupack Area now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Scranton Prep, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wallenpaupack Area will host Abington Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Scranton Prep, they will be playing at home against Scranton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
