Football Recap: Evergreen Cougars vs. Skyview Wolverines
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Evergreen). They blew past the Skyview Wolverines 62-0 on the road on Friday. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Evergreen's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Josh Bittner, who rushed for 45 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 32 yards and a touchdown. Bittner also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles and defending a pass. Another back making a difference was Solomon Bentrott, who rushed for 64 yards and a touchdown.
He was just one part of a punishing run game: Evergreen was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 295 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved they're rushing yard total in three consecutive games.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Evergreen's defense and their three sacks. Hudson Steber was especially locked on to Skyview's QB and sacked him twice.

Evergreen's defense has only allowed 13 points per game this season, so Green Mountain's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Skyview, they have the luxury of staying home for another week and will welcome Wheat Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wheat Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 29.1 points per game this season.
