The Lamar Raiders will challenge the Park Place Christian Academy Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lamar is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.

Lamar will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Simpson Academy, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Raiders never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 5-0 win on Friday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Not much got past Sullivan Reed, who gave up just four hits to keep Simpson Academy off the board. Reed has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jackson Whitcomb, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Ty Herrington was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Park Place Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They lost 10-0 to Leake Academy.

Lamar's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-6-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Park Place Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.

Everything went Lamar's way against Park Place Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, as Lamar made off with a 15-5 victory. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Crusaders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
