The Amador Valley Dons will face off against the Foothill Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Amador Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Things were looking good for Amador Valley after they put the first run on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Washington by a score of 7-6. The Dons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Kade Robertson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Colombo, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run.
Meanwhile, Foothill made easy work of Livermore on Friday and carried off a 10-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won 12 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Foothill also got a great performance from Take Sato-Kreis as he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Sato-Kreis a new career-high.
At the plate, Hudson Flora was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Tanner Tarpley was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Foothill pushed their record up to 17-5 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Amador Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.
Both Amador Valley and Foothill just can't seem to miss. The Dons have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like Foothill struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
