Baseball Recap: Holcomb Comes Up Short

Holcomb easily dispatched Southwestern Heights on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Longhorns fell just short of the Spearville Royal Lancers by a score of 8-6 on Monday. The Longhorns were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Royal Lancers earlier this season, when they won 7-3.

Holcomb's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Spearville, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Holcomb beat the Royal Lancers by a score of 7-3 later that day.
