Basketball Game Preview: Grossmont Foothillers vs. Carlsbad Lancers + Official Tickets

The Grossmont Foothillers will head out on the road to challenge the Carlsbad Lancers at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Grossmont is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.6 points per game this season.

Grossmont was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Fallbrook on Saturday. The Foothillers blew past the Warriors, posting a 64-35 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Foothillers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while the Warriors are ranked 566th).

Aakash Price had another great game (as she tends to do), dropping a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. She has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more boards the last 32 times she's played. Tiann Carpenter was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Meanwhile, Carlsbad was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 46-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westview.

Grossmont's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Carlsbad, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Grossmont came out on top in a nail-biter against Carlsbad in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, sneaking past 56-53. Will the Foothillers repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
