Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Tuesday. Rosewood were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over East Wake Academy. Considering Rosewood has won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
McCandless St John was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Kaitlyn Vernon was a standout: she scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kodee Jensen, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Rosewood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.
