Monroe County let Metcalfe County stack four runs on them in the sixth inning on Tuesday but luckily Monroe County prevailed anyway. The Falcons came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hornets, sneaking past 5-4. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Brison Nuckols was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Gradey Starnes, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
The victory got Monroe County back to even at 7-7. As for Metcalfe County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Monroe County will have a chance to go back-to-back against Metcalfe County: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
